More Than a Delivery

Every Ford Mustang GTD is special, but some deliveries tell a story that goes far beyond simply handing over the keys.

For Andy B., the arrival of his 2026 Ford Mustang GTD Carbon Series represented the addition of a car he plans to keep for the rest of his life. Finished in unmistakable Race Red and showcasing exposed, hand-laid carbon fiber across the hood, roof, and decklid, this GTD is the type of automobile that demands a second look — and then a third.

Andy lives in California, but rather than sending the GTD directly west, the delivery journey included an important first stop in Troy, Michigan.

First Stop: Icon Motorsport in Troy, Michigan

Before Andy planned to bring the GTD home to California, he wanted to make sure its incredible Race Red finish and exposed carbon fiber surfaces were properly prepared and protected.

The car was therefore delivered to Icon Motorsport in Troy, Michigan, where it would undergo professional paint correction before being wrapped in Paint Protection Film, commonly known as PPF.

For a vehicle this special — and especially one intended to remain in the family for a lifetime — protecting the paint and carbon fiber from road debris, chips, environmental contamination, and everyday wear made perfect sense.

Carbon Series Details That Make the GTD Extraordinary

The GTD's Carbon Series specification creates an incredible contrast against the Race Red bodywork.

Beautifully hand-laid carbon fiber is visible across the hood, roof, and rear decklid, allowing the craftsmanship and motorsports-inspired construction of the GTD to become part of the exterior design itself.

Race Red gives the car unmistakable Mustang presence, while the exposed carbon fiber immediately communicates that this is something much more extreme than a traditional Mustang.

From Kansas City to Michigan for the Delivery

At Chuck Anderson Ford, a Mustang GTD delivery isn't treated like an ordinary transaction.

Nick Anderson flew from Kansas City to Michigan specifically to meet Andy and personally be part of the GTD delivery experience.

Travel didn't exactly cooperate.

Delayed flights complicated the trip, but there was no chance a few airline delays were going to get in the way of delivering one of the most extraordinary Ford vehicles ever produced.

In the end, the delays simply became another part of the story — and the delivery was every bit the occasion it deserved to be.

A Mustang GTD for Life

What makes this delivery particularly meaningful is Andy's long-term plan for the car.
