More Than Our Address. Excelsior Springs Is Part of Who We Are.

Chuck Anderson Ford isn't simply a Ford dealership located in Excelsior Springs. This is our hometown.

In 1974, Chuck Anderson and his family purchased the local Ford dealership and made Excelsior Springs home. More than five decades later, the Anderson family continues serving drivers from the same community that helped shape the dealership.

That history matters to us because Excelsior Springs has always been a town built around people coming together. Long before travelers arrived here by automobile, they came for the city's famous mineral waters. They stayed at local hotels, walked downtown streets, gathered at restaurants and shops, and experienced the hospitality that still defines Excelsior Springs today.

From the Hall of Waters and The Elms Hotel & Spa to a summer trip to Dari-B or an evening in Historic Downtown Excelsior Springs, these are more than attractions. They're part of the community's identity.

The History of Excelsior Springs

Excelsior Springs grew from an extraordinary collection of mineral springs into one of Missouri's best-known historic resort communities. The landmarks that remain today tell the story of that transformation.

1880

The Mineral-Water Era Begins

Siloam Spring became the first of the mineral waters associated with the development of Excelsior Springs. The discovery helped transform what had largely been agricultural land into a destination that attracted visitors seeking the area's unusual mineral waters.

1890s+

A Destination Takes Shape

Hotels, boarding houses, bath houses, businesses and attractions developed as more visitors traveled to the community. The mineral-water industry helped establish the character and architecture still visible throughout Excelsior Springs.

1936–1938

The Hall of Waters Is Built

Construction of the Hall of Waters created one of the city's defining landmarks. The Art Deco and Depression Modern building brought multiple mineral waters together in a single complex and became one of the most ambitious public projects of its type in Missouri.
