2024 Ford Explorer Performance Features

The 2024 Ford Explorer has a base 2.3L EcoBoost I-4 engine with up to 300 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque as well as a standard 10-speed automatic transmission that makes shifting gears smoother and more efficient. Using the standard 2.3L EcoBoost I-4 engine, the new Ford Explorer’s Timberline grade can go from 0–60 mph in 6.0 seconds. On 2WD and Intelligent 4WD models, the standard Terrain Management System uses up to seven Selectable Drive Modes to adapt to and tackle nearly any terrain, including Normal, Trail, Deep Snow/Sand, Slippery, Sport, Tow/Haul and Eco Mode.

Available on ST, King Ranch and Platinum models, the 2024 Ford Explorer offers a high-performance 3.0L EcoBoost V6 engine with Auto Start-Stop Technology that combines turbocharging and direct injection to produce up to 400 hp and 415 lb-ft of torque. Paired with the standard 10-speed automatic transmission, the Ford Explorer SUV can tow a maximum of up to 5,600 pounds when equipped with the available Class IV Trailer Tow Package.

The 2024 Ford Explorer’s interior is designed to impress—and adapt to all of your needs. The new Ford Explorer has easily configurable seating for up to 6 or 7, including second-row 35/30/35 split-fold-flat and reclining seats with E-Z Entry and PowerFold third-row seats that make it easy to accommodate extra cargo or passengers. The Ford Explorer offers a cargo capacity of up to 87.8 cubic feet with the seat area, and folding down the third row gets you up to 47.9 cubic feet of cargo space.

The 2024 Ford Explorer comes with premium amenities, such as multi-color ambient lighting with seven colors, twin-panel moonroof, tri-zone electronic automatic temperature control, 8-way power driver seat and massaging front seats. As the top-of-the-line trim, Platinum’s interior is outfitted with Light Sandstone or Ebony quilted leather seating surfaces with tri-diamond micro-perforated inserts and wood trim, while King Ranch gets exclusive Java Del Rio leather seating surfaces with lasso-perforated inserts on all three rows.
